Mustang quarterback Julian Viramontes was 14 of 24 in the air for 162, while his counterpart Celie completed 7 of12 passes for 118 yards. Neal led the Mustang rushing efforts with 32 carries for 201 yards, while Johnson led Roosevelt in receiving catching 5 passes for 94 yards. Roosevelt took its final lead late in the third quarter with Neal scored his second touchdown of the night, but a Dustin Reynolds’ touchdown early in the fourth set up the dramatic finish. Two minutes later, the Mustangs regained the lead with a 64 yard touchdown reception from Chris Johnson, but saw that lead quickly evaporate when for a second time Apple Valley answered directly back with a 45 yard touchdown pass from Noah Celie to Drew Amico.Įarly in the second quarter, a 55 yard punt return from Juan Salas gave Roosevelt its third lead of the night but once again Apple Valley erased it when Sterling Peck caught a 20 yard touchdown before the break.
